Rebekah Caldwell

Rebekah started playing the cornet at the age of 10 at her local school in the west of Scotland. She progressed quickly and soon joined her local band, the Irvine and Dreghorn Band. Within a year she took up playing the flugel horn and held that position in the band for a further 2 years.
In 2004, Rebekah joined the her first Championship section Band, the Newmilns and Galston Band, playing cornet, under the direction of tuba virtuosi, Craig Anderson. She stayed with the band for 2 years, then joined the Whitburn Band for a short spell before moving to Manchester.
At 16, Rebekah joined the National Youth Brass Band Of Scotland on Flugel and after only 1 year was awarded the principal Flugel seat which she still holds today.
In 2006 she took up study at the Royal Northern College of Music on Cornet under the tuition of Roger Webster and was very happy to join the Fairey Band in May 2007. |
