Horn
Andrew began playing tenor horn at the age of 10. He quickly showed
great promise and at the age of 11 won the Junior Scottish
solo Championship.
Later
that year Andrew joined Arbroath Instrumental Band who were
curremtly in 4th section, then made progress from 4th section
to 1st section in 3 consecutive years. In this time Andrew
had moved onto solo horn.
Andrew
has also played in the National Youth Brass Of Scotland since
the age of 13 and has held the principal horn seat for 5 years
now.
At
the young age of 16, Andrew auditioned for the Royal Northern
College Of Music and was accepted to commence his studies
in September 2005.
Only
2 months into his 1st term he was offered the seat of 2nd
horn at Faireys which he gladly accepted. After a year with
the band he now sits 1st horn.
